The Story Shelf is our bestseller: solid ash, dovetail joints, a painted front bar and five widths. The Colour Pop is the same shelf with a painted body and a natural ash or oak bar. The Classic is our original design, lighter and in three widths, at a lower price. You can compare them side by side on our bookshelves page.

Each product page has a size guide showing how many books fit each width. As a rough guide, a 60cm Story Shelf shows four covers and holds around 25 picture books. If you're filling a wall, two or three shelves stacked together often look better than one long one.

Order real painted samples for £3 a colour, posted free, from our colour samples page. Each sample has a code on the back worth £5 off a furniture order of £100 or more, one code per order.

Prices are per shelf. Books, toys and anything else in the photos are just for styling. Every shelf comes fully assembled with screws, wall plugs and keyhole markers, and UK mainland delivery is free.

Yes. Story Shelves and Colour Pops are priced lower automatically in sets: 10% off two, 15% off three and 20% off four or more, in any mix of sizes and colours. A colour sample code can be used on top. Our welcome code can't be combined with set prices.

As everything is made to order, we can sometimes adapt a piece to fit your space. Get in touch with what you need. Changes have to fit our packaging sizes, and there may be an extra charge depending on the change. Bespoke pieces can't be returned unless there's a fault.

Our furniture is made from solid ash, sustainably sourced. Ash is strong, durable and non-toxic, with a pale, swirling grain that suits both natural and painted finishes. The Colour Pop can also have an oak front bar, for a warmer tone.

The Story Shelf and Colour Pop are joined with dovetails, the joint cabinetmakers have trusted for centuries. The Classic and Flip It Shelf use floating mortise and tenon joints. Every piece is made to order in our Cardiff workshop: designed by Daisy, made by Luke.

Yes. Our furniture is painted with a child-safe paint tested to EN 71-3, the safety standard for children's toys.

Very close, but not identical. It's solid timber, so the grain and the odd knot will differ from piece to piece. Paint can also look slightly different on different screens, which is why we offer colour samples.

Almost. We cut our own packaging on our laser cutter to fit each order, and it's recyclable, reusable or biodegradable. We don't buy plastic packaging: if you find bubble wrap or foam in your box, it's been reused from deliveries we've received.

Each piece is made from solid hardwood, joined properly, finished in our Cardiff workshop and sent fully assembled. It's made to last well beyond childhood, not to be replaced in a few years, and delivery is included.

Yes. All our furniture arrives fully assembled, so it's ready to hang as soon as it's out of the box.

A drill with a 6mm bit and a spirit level. The screws, universal wall plugs and keyhole markers come in the box. Slot the markers into the back of the shelf, hold it level against the wall and press: they mark exactly where to drill, so there's no measuring.

The universal wall plugs in the box work in both solid walls and plasterboard. Every wall is different, so if you're unsure, ask a professional for advice before fitting.

Hang it so the books sit at your child's eye or chest height, where they can reach them comfortably while standing. For a reading wall, put the lowest shelf at their height and use the higher ones for books you swap in. Avoid hanging shelves directly above a cot or bed.

Each decor listing says what's included. Magnetic frames have an optional sticky hanging hook.

Wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. No polish or sprays needed.

Furniture is made to order and dispatched within 10–12 working days. Decor and prints are dispatched within 3–5 working days. During sales and other busy times, please allow up to 3–4 weeks for furniture and 5–10 working days for decor. Full details are on our delivery page.

Furniture and decor in the same order are sent together, so allow for the longest time. Prints are printed and posted separately, so they always arrive in their own parcel.

Delivery is free on every order to the UK mainland. Furniture is sent by Parcelforce 24 and decor by Royal Mail 48, both tracked.

Yes. We'll email your tracking link as soon as your order is dispatched. If you'd like an update before then, email info@autumnscorner.com with your order number.

Email info@autumnscorner.com as soon as you can with your name and order number, and put "Cancel order" in the subject. Bespoke orders can't be cancelled more than 24 hours after ordering. Once an order has been dispatched, a cancellation is treated as a return.

Yes. You can choose Klarna at checkout to spread the cost.

Our 10% welcome code can't be combined with other offers, so it won't apply on top of set prices for two or more shelves, or the frame and print offer. You can use it on anything else in your first order.

Yes, you can return most items within 14 days of receiving them, as long as they're unused and in their original packaging. Email info@autumnscorner.com with your order number first. Return postage is paid by you. See our returns details.

Bespoke sizes, custom colours and personalised items, unless there's a fault. Prints, because each one is printed to order. And we can't accept returns for colour alone, so if you're unsure, order a sample first.

Once your return reaches us, we'll check it over and refund you to your original payment method within 5 working days. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.

Email info@autumnscorner.com with your order number and a photo of the damage, and we'll sort it out with you. For prints, please let us know within 24 hours of delivery.
